
Google added a new shortcut key to its video calling platform Google Meet that makes it easier for users to unmute themselves during video calls. Where you can unmute yourself by pressing a spacebar. You can unmute yourself by pressing or holding the space bar and releasing the space bar will mute you again.
“To quickly unmute yourself during a meeting, you can now hold down the spacebar to be unmuted, then release the spacebar to return to a muted state,” Google announced via a blog post.
“We hope this makes it even easier for you to participate in your meetings by quickly unmuting to say something,” the post mentions. In the blog post, Google says this new shortcut will help you when you forget to mute again unmuting yourselves.
When will this feature rollout?
Google blogs state that this shortcut feature will be added to Google Meet on 9 September. It will be off for all users by default. Those who are interested can enable it from settings.
Who will get this feature?
Google says that this feature will be available to all Google Workspaces customers. A personal user account on all web browsers will also be eligible for this new feature.
“Available to all Workspace customers and users with personal Google Accounts on all web browsers,” the post says.
